SpeakEasy FAQs
Lack of confidence causes many people to believe they have very little to work with when it comes to public speaking skills. I assure you, you're already bringing loads of positives to your speech delivery. I will help you build foundational skills that in turn will underpin genuine capability. These skills are permanent and scalable — you will have them for the rest of your life.
Investing in your public speaking skills now will see you through every event you speak at for the rest of your life. PRICING:
My hourly fee is $97 including GST. Each session is one hour. There are no packages to buy and no gimmicks. Just make appointments if and when you need them.NUMBER OF SESSIONS: Most people find 2-3 sessions very helpful for weddings, funerals, job interviews, etc. Corporate presentations sometimes need more input. Parliamentary/political/campaign speech coaching can be more complex and require more time. SPEECH WRITING: Speech writing is charged by the hour — preparing the gist of your speech yourself is the most economical approach. I can then take your content and edit it to suit your needs and your audience.
Some people think delivering a great speech requires memorising it, so that you seem to be speaking extemporaneously (off the cuff). Let me make this incredibly easy for you — this is completely false! But, for best effect, you can appear to have (mostly) memorised your speech without actually doing so, and it's my job to show you how.
I doubt it. We don't need to analyse your headspace to get over your fear of public speaking. In fact, getting OUT of your own headspace is a better place to start. Implementing clear, practical strategies naturally and automatically quiets negative self-talk.
"Healthy nerves" are normal and (surprise!) quite helpful. It's likely you'll have these along the way, and that's OK. You just need to know what they are about and how to manage them and use them to your advantage. I'll show you!
Step 1:
A brief no-charge, no-obligation phone/video/email consultation where we discuss your concerns and goals.Step 2:
An in-person or e-meet, where the work begins immediately. No multi-session commitment is required. Let's see how we go, and if you need more sessions, you can add them. Many people find two or three sessions go a long way.Step 3:
If you need more coaching and input, choose from the Services "menu" — as few or as many options as you wish. There's no specific commitment required. Just mix and match, adding appointments and services you want and need.
Expect that we'll talk about your event and your goals, and review the content of your speech. We'll take a look at your delivery style and try a few pointers to immediately get you on the ladder to more confident speaking. We'll talk about nerves and ways to control them, and get you comfortable with some new skills. Most importantly, we'll celebrate all the things you're already bringing to the equation, so that you are still naturally you.
Your life is busy and full — evening and weekend sessions are often available so that you have the time you need to prepare for your event. Call or txt me on 027-461-8775 to sort out a time.
Of course! In fact, much of my work is done via Teams, WhatsApp or Meet. Online video calls are highly effective for speech delivery coaching, assessing physical cues, and developing practice strategies. If you need help writing your speech, we can manage that remotely as well. Remote appointments allow us to work together regardless of your location or time zone, providing the same level of personalized feedback and support. While in-person sessions are great for venue analysis, remote walk-throughs can work very well, too.
